Here is the List of Outdoor Events for the 2019 Season. Full details will follow but all the dates are confirmed although may still be subject to slight change.
20/21st April – Home Farm, Backford training weekend. 18/19th May – 2 day Driving Trials, Home farm, Backford.
This a flat venue, perfect for smaller or young ponies. Permanent obstacles, newly renovated for this season as well as a brand new water obstacle. Hot meal on the Saturday evening.
1/2nd June – 2 day Driving Trials Henbury Hall
Ex-national course with superb dressage and cones facilities and a fabulous marathon with 6 permanent obstacles. Hot meal available on the Saturday evening.
22/23rd June – 2 day Driving Trials ( Novice Qualifier) Plas Newydd, Pontblyddyn
A brand new venue last year, hosting our novice qualifier. Perfect facilities in all three phases with approximately a 12km marathon and 6 obstacles over rolling parkland. with a hot meal and entertainment on the Saturday evening.
27/28th July – 2 day Driving Trials, Llanymynech
Our previous novice qualifier venue, a flat marathon with perfect facilities and three water obstacles. A hot meal will be available on the Saturday evening.
17/18th August – 2 day Driving Trials, Ty Draw, Gwysaney Hall, Mold
Perfect dressage and cones facilities on estate land in North Wales. A hilly marathon but not too challenging, as the venue was new year before last the marathon will be re-routed to iron out the issues raised from last year’s event. Hot food available on the Saturday evening
7/8th September – Pydew Farm – Details to be confirmed.
Home Farm, Backford – CH2 4DF
From Cheshire direction – Leave the M53 at Junction 10 onto the A5117. Turn left opposite the Harvester pub onto Rake Lane and CHDTL signs will take you to the event field.
From North Wales – Leave the A494 at the last junction before the M56, heading for Ellesmere Port and follow signs for Chester zoo at the roundabout. Then follow signs for Cheshire Oaks at the following roundabouts, until you reach the Audi garage roundabout. Here take the exit for the A5117 (Runcorn, Manchester). Take the first turning on the right (Rake Lane) opposite the Harvester pub. CHDTL signs will lead you from here to the lorry park.
Plas Newydd, Pontblyddyn – CH7 4HY
From the A55, leave at Junction 35 (Dobshill), taking the A550. Straight over two roundabouts and take the A5104 exit at the third roundabout. There is a 13ft low railway bridge along the A5104. Proceed along the A5104 approximately 2 miles and the venue is on the left.
If your lorry is over 13ft please use the alternative route shown below. Follow the above directions up until the third roundabout. Here continue straight over the roundabout towards Hope, continuing on the A550. In the village of Hope turn right to continue on the A550 towards Wrexham. Then take the second turning on the right towards Mold. At the end of the road turn right for Mold. Continue until you reach the village of Pontblyddyn and take the first turning on the right for Chester (A5104). The CHDTL signs will guide you from here.
Llanymynech, Oswestry – Lower House Farm, SY22 6LG
From the A483 at Llynclys crossroads turn onto the B4396 (for Knockin). Upon approach of the village of Knockin turn onto the B4398 signposted Llanymynech. CHDTL signs will lead you to the lorry park.
Ty Draw Farm, Gwysaney Hall, Mold – CH7 6LT
Leave A55 at junction 33 for Northop. Through the village heading for Sychdyn on the A5119. Turn right in front of the Cross Keys pub onto Black Brook Lane. CHDTL signs will lead you from here.
Henbury Hall, Macclesfield – SK11 9PS
From the North – On the A537, travel through the village of Henbury and at the roundabout take the exit for the B5392. Turn right onto Pexhill Road, signposted Holmes Chapel (B5392). Follow the CHDTL signs onto Bearhurst Lane and onto the venue.
From the South – On the A537 at the Tesco express roundabout before entering Henbury village, take the exit for the B5392 and follow the above instructions.
