Indoor Events News Letter

28th Jan

Hi All, the P&P Times for Northop on Sunday are on the 2013 events page. As you will see, we are starting half an hour later. ( So you can still have your Sunday lie-in ha ha ha!!!! )  There have been some improvements made at Northop since we were last there. The Indoor has had a new surface and the old one has been put down onto the Outdoor arena so that should make it nicer to drive on! Also, the top yard where we collect before going into the Indoor arena, has been fenced and gated so your Backstepper will have to open and close the gate when going in and out. Please make sure this gate is closed at all times. We will be running the Cones concurrently in the Outdoor arena so as soon as you have done your P&P, go directly to the Outdoor arena and await instructions from the Cones Stewards. Also, as this will reduce the working-in space available, please stick to the Adlington rule of only the next 3 Drivers to go to be in there at any time. There will be Catering available. Linda will be there as usual with her scrummy soups and casseroles etc. Linda will be serving food from the Kitchen not the normal classroom, there will be signs up to direct you- or just follow your nose! Please support our caterers to make it worth their while and to make sure they come back again!!

Also, please remember Northop are very strict on the ” NO HAYNETS ” outside wagons or trailers rule on the wagon park. Please keep your bit of the wagon park clean & tidy as it only means one of us has to go round later and clean up.  Northop will impose fines on Clubs for leaving the wagon park untidy!!  ” Inharness ” magazine have kindly sent us some free copies, one of which will be given to
the winner of each class. If you already subscribe, and don’t require another copy, perhaps you would be good enough to pass the magazine on to the next placed Driver below you.

All we need now is for the weather to behave itself!!

Adlington 17th Nov

Well, we didn’t do too badly with the weather today considering the gloom & drizzle first thing! What a very pleasant day. You are a fantastic bunch! Hope everyone had as much fun as I did! Congrats to Vanessa Williams for managing to still come 2nd despite wrong directions from her “back-seat-driver” lol!! Think I should stick to Driving and give up Backstepping lol!! Thanks to all our helpers today. To Phillip Reeves for judging Paces and Barbara for judging Precision and also to Barbara for doing such a sterling job flogging raffle tickets! Saleswoman of the year or what???? Big Thank-You’s to Clare Stubbins who slaves away in the office doing the scoring and H who just slaves away everywhere and keeps everything running like clockwork!! Well done to Tracey Harrison on her first ever event- another one hooked now methinks lol!! It’s more addicting than drugs, fags or booze this Indoor Driving malarky!!! Also well done to Ruth Lancaster- the burning topic amongst the spectators was what a great job she has done with her pony Yo Yo since putting him in a Pair. He’s found his vocation!  Look forward to seeing you all again on Dec 8th. Already got 13 entries! Keep ‘em coming! ;-)

A reminder to Competitors for this coming winter season’s Indoor Driving Trials, if you want to make sure of a place at each month’s competition, why not send all your entries in together with post-dated cheques for each comp. That way, if you need to withdraw before the closing date, I can just destroy the cheque. Don’t forget, we have a 30 entry limit so if you don’t enter in time, you may be unlucky. It’s only 3 weeks on Saturday till the first event at Adlington ( 20th October ) so get those entries in soon!!!!

Possibility of an Arena Challenge Event at Reaseheath College on Dec 15th!!!!!!!!!

The Committee are in negotiations with Reaseheath College with a view to holding an Arena Challenge Event similar to that staged at the Keysoe  Finals on the Saturday night. However, we need to know whether we have enough support to go ahead with it. There will be a course consisting of two Indoor Obstacles and a number of Cones to be driven in the fastest time. The full rules will be announced later but for now we just need to know if you are all interested in attending such a Competition. Obviously such a prestigious venue doesn’t come cheap, so we need to know that we will have your support before we fully commit. We have also obtained sponsorship which will mean that we will be able to offer some PRIZE MONEY!!!!! Please email caroleredgrave@btinternet.com asap to tell us if you would be interested.
